Swap #2

The packages are out and on their way! Sorry for the delay, but I was out of town all last week and had left before the last package arrived. So I sorted like crazy all night last night, and sent the fabrics out today. Thanks so much for your patience! Here are the last two groups. Sorry the pictures are so bad!

From Sherri. I love the Santas and the garden prints!
And from me! My favorites are the apples and the suns and moons.
It has been fun everyone! I will maybe do another swap as soon as I get some Christmas projects under way! Happy sewing :)

Fabric Received!

Sorry it took me so long to get these pictures up. I had an incident early in the week that left me walking like I was 100. But I am feeling much better now, so on with the swap! We have some cute fabrics! I apologize for the bad pictures. You might be able to see them better if you click on them.

From Dara. The cards are cute, and I love those apples and peace signs!
From SheriDawn. I especially love the gourds and the music notes!
From Care. I almost got that same blender print! And I love the potato chips and black cats.
From Janelle. The turkeys are too cute and I love the little raccoons.
From Rose. I love that we have so many music fabrics and that they are all different! The construction fabric is a favorite and I also love the donuts and ice cream!
From Jill. Crayons! Love it. And the blue transportation fabric will be a favorite with my boys!
From Carrie. I love the sheriff's stars and the stamps!
From Jenn. The umbrellas and the bananas are my favorites!
Yeah! Keep 'em coming! We are still waiting on 11 more packages. Tomorrow is the deadline, so hopefully I'll have a full mailbox tomorrow! If you are participating in this swap and are running late, just shoot me a quick email so I can keep everyone informed.

Thanks!

Swap #2

Ready for another swap? I know I am! I want to have another swap before Christmas. I admit, it's partly selfish; I want more I-Spy fabrics before Christmas!

Read this thoroughly! Please only comment if you can meet the deadline so we can get the fabrics in time to make Christmas presents!

The Basics:
Mail me 200 I-Spy squares by November 15th.
Get back 200 squares, all different, by November 30th.

The Details:
1. I need 14 people to join the swap. In order to join, just leave a comment with your email address included. (If you are not located in the USA, please send your fabrics ASAP.)

2. Cut 20 4" squares out of each of 10 different novelty print fabrics (quilting quality cotton wovens - please no flannel). A 1/4-yard cut or fat quarter will get you 20 4" squares, so you will be purchasing a total of about 2 1/2 yards of fabric. This is NOTHING when you consider all of the fabrics you will be getting back.

3. In order to avoid duplicates, everyone will need to search out unusual or obscure prints. Try to look for things that aren't available at chain stores. Pick fun prints that you love!

4. Remember that we are looking for fabric with objects on it, not printy-prints. (A fabric with FLOWERS on it is very different from a FLORAL PRINT.)

5. No "licensed" prints: No Disney, Spongebob, Dora, John Deere, L.A. Lakers, etc.

6. Remember seam allowances! Be sure you can tell what you are looking at within a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square. Nobody wants only half of an object in their square -- cut them well! (Depending on your fabric choice, you may need to buy more than 1/4 yard in order to get an object into each cut square.)

The first 14 people who comment here will get to participate! Please leave your email address in the comment so I can fill you in on some of the details of the swap. Also, feel free to forward this on to any friends you have that might be interested in joining us!
